No matter what the season, immerse yourself in a relaxing oasis in any one of our alfresco dining areas. Our decking area surrounded with planters bursting with wild greenery and colourful flowers is the perfect sun trap to share bar snacks with friends. Or grab a fleeting pint perched on a bar stool under the pergola or fill up a garden bench with the whole family and entertain into the evening under the stretch tent and festoon lighting. With plenty of tranquil spots to unwind and create memories, we will provide the perfect tipple no matter the season.

A Little Perspective: Working in a Pub During Hot Weather As temperatures rise, so does the pressure behind the bar and in the kitchen. Working in a pub during hot weather isn’t just uncomfortable — it can be physically exhausting and mentally draining. Staff are often working in environments where kitchen temperatures soar far beyond what’s outside, with fryers, grills, and ovens running non-stop. Add to that the fast pace of service, heavy lifting, and being on our feet for hours — all while trying to stay professional, polite, and efficient. If you’re sitting in the beer garden enjoying the sunshine, we’re genuinely happy to serve you. But we also ask for a little patience and understanding: • We may move a bit slower. It’s not laziness — it’s the heat taking its toll. • We may not always be smiling. It’s not rudeness — it’s fatigue. • We’re doing our best. Everyone front of house and back of house is working hard to give you a good experience, even in tough conditions. Kindness, patience, and even a simple “thank you” go a long way. Your understanding means more than you know.
