HISTORIC GEM

The Pickering Arms is a revered listed building that holds a key part of history to Thelwall village. It can be seen on it’s wooden beam exterior, inscribed along the beam is the record of Thelwall being fortified and named by King Edward the Elder in the year 923.

With a quaint cobbled path entrance, this entire stone-built structure holds years of rustic character within. With exposed stone walls, low ceilings and stone tiled floor it’s clear to see the cherished history of centuries past. The crackling fireplace is a cosy showstopper in the winter months bringing the charming of the building alive as it would have been back then.
